Website name / Domain name and SEO relation.

Search Engine Optimization can also be done via a domain name, the shorter, sweet and catchy the domain name or name of your site,  the more remembered it will be and the more visitors will visit back. Hence, getting a domain name for your site either it is a business or an informative is very essential.
There are two types of Domains first  Root Domains and another is Sub Domains.

Root Domains are top level order of a domain. These Domains are purchased from register. *.example.org or *.moz.com are the example of Root Domain. Whereas Sub –Domains are third level order of domain. Two most common Sub Domain choices: http://www.example.com.(www is the sub domain) and http://example.com. (no sub domain) .

There are few techniques and tips while registering a domain for how it should be considered and wisely choose.

  1. Domain Name Memorability: While selecting the domain name, there are a lot of considerations. Among them we should make the name short, easy to remember, and easy to type into the browser which play the vital role for SEO.
  2. Keyword-rich Domain:  Benefits of a keyword-rich domain is two-folds: first thing, domain name itself is a ranking factor. Second thingvis that  domain name is the text that other internet user will use as anchor text when linking. Since keywords in anchor text are an significant ranking factor.
  3. Hyphens: Hyphens are vital for the SEO, Domain name must be simple and short and easy to remember. If your domain name is more than 1 words, you may want to separate the words with hyphen for readability. But more than one hyphen should not be used in a domain name.
  4. Non-.com Top-Level Domains (TLDs): While registering for a domain name, webmasters will be given the option to buy additional TLDs. To maximize the direct traffic to a domain, it is forcefully recommend that webmasters should buy domain of .com (commercial) if available. If Webmasters purchase low quality TLDs in order to increasing traffic it directly impact to the SEO purpose.
  5. Sub domains or Sub-folders: Every search engines saves different metrics for domain than they do for sub domains, so it is mostly recommended that webmasters place blogs in sub-folders rather than sub domains. (i.e. www.examples.com/blog rather than blog.example.com)
